I am researching the history of the milner family and wonder whether anyone there has any connections with my branch of the tree, or any information about my family.
My ggg grandafather, John Milner, was born in clayton about 1811. His wife's name was sarah, born approx 1816.
They had the following children (all born in clayton):
Martha born approx 1839
Rufus 1840
Zenas 1842
John appears to have died between 1842 and 1845.
Sarah married jonas firth, previously maried to judith firth, in september 1845. By 1861 they were living at 31 Bailey Hill.
Zenas married Susannah Farnell ( born approx 1842 in manchester) on 15/9/1864 and by 1871 they were living in Ardwick, manchester. They had the following children:
Frederick 1866
Albert Edward 1868
Lilias Sarah 1875
Zenas 1879
Florence Martha 1880
Lilias married William Henry Tickle and they were my great-grandparents.
