1 Highgate Road, Clayton

Wanting to find information regarding my mother who was born November 1936 at 1 Highgate Road, Clayton, Bradford. The occupier of the house at that time, according to her birth cert, was a F Thomas.

I would be grateful if there are any photo's of the house or if anyone knew of the family, is the house still standing?

My maternal grandparents name was Hunt, my grandmothers maiden name was Handy.

hi sue,
interested in the address, 1 highgate
on a recent visit to the area ,discovered no.1 to be demolished
sorry no pics then.
my interest was in 1925 , my mother died at 1 highgate rd
when she actually lived in clayton village .
i assumed it was some type of nursing home?
in 1930 the people i/cwere fred and ???pickles no relation [another coincidence] sorry that this does not answer any of your questions but but the lure of the address was enough for a respond.

Hi Douglas

Thanks for getting back to me, a Nursing home would make sense and answers another question I've been wondering about. Whilst at the time Mum and Nan were at 1 Highgate, granddad was living in Pudsey. It is a shame there's no photo's, I'll keep looking though!!
