yes the park could do with a bit of a spruce up, but on the whole its a decent park and a great facility for the village,
there is plenty for the little kids, theres the football court for the older kids theres the bowling green for the older people as well as the picnic tables, open spaces and flower beds etc, it would be nice if there was some sort of lighting in there at night and maybe the old rugby changing rooms in the top corner could be better used maybe as a youth club for the kids who dont have anything to do on an evening. but the park is not full of druggies (druggies dont need a park, Im sure even they can find a nice warm council flat to hang around in) even the poppy wreaths at the war memorial managed to stay in place from nov right up until the following may, hardly the work of local yobs!!
As for clayton being a ghost town (or train) yes the middle school closed along with every other middle school in bradford but the first schools were extended, the co op closed down and was replaced by a bigger and better one, it has really good schools and pubs the people are generally nice, it has 5 churches there is no major main road running right through it like thornton and queensbury, yes it could use a few more shops and bits and peices need a tidy up but on the whole i think we should be grateful to live here anyone who isn't should take a good look around go for a drive through buttershaw or holmewood, the only downfall is the amount of new housing estates whitch tend to end up with people moving here from other areas resulting in the villages resources such as schools doctors dentists being overstreched as well as more traffic on the roads,
clayton is by no means perfect but its no drug fuelled crime ridden ghetto either (not yet anyway!)
