I lived in Clayton from 1931 to 1947. The Village images by Geoff Jagger brought back many memories and I should tell him that there was another Fish & Chip Shop on Clayton Lane next to Stunts the newsagents. Stunt's had a glass doored notice board where the teams for Staurday's football teams were posted. The headmaster at the church  school was a Mr, Hay & the Vicar was called Harding. He had a son with a very noisy Scott motor cycle

Hi,
I was wondering if you knew anything of a Wesleyan Chapel in Clayton. I know it's a little before your time it existed in 1839 as some of my ancestors were paying pew rent there.
